At Vantage Toyota Knaresborough, supporting national charities and their fundraising events is something very important to the whole team.
Last month, the team at Toyota Knaresborough decided to get involved with the BEN Hats On 4 Mental Health fundraising event and had so much fun raising money for a great charity. BEN is a not-for-profit organisation that partners with the automotive industry to provide support for life to its people and their families. From mental health, to financial wellbeing, BEN have been supporting those within the industry with free and confidential advice since 1905. Every year, BEN relies on both donations and fundraising events to provide high quality, ongoing support to people going through life's toughest challenges. This year, they chose to raise awareness of mental health illnesses using their Hats on 4 Mental Health Day to spread the word. Around 1 in 3 people suffer with mental health challenges at work so the team at Toyota Knaresborough believed it was a very important fundraising event to support!
On November 10th, the team dug into the backs of their wardrobes to find the most ridiculous hats they own! From pirate hats to bobble hats, cowboy hats to snapbacks, the team made a fantastic effort. They took plenty of photos for social media to interact with BEN and their #HatsOn4MentalHealth hashtag, as well as having lots of fun as a team. As a group, the centres raised an amazing £549 - an incredible effort!
Alan Sedman, Centre Principal at Toyota Knaresborough, said:
"BEN Hats on 4 Mental Health Day was a great day for the whole team. Raising awareness of mental health is incredibly important and the whole team got involved. We will definitely be getting involved in similar events in the future!"
